Screen 1 - Academic Criteria

  • Grade point average of at least 3.0 with no grade of "F" during grade six and the first semester of grade 7 in the following core areas: English, Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies.
  • Seventh grade students must receive one of the folliwng MAP score combinations: 
    • Score at/above the 75th percentile on the MAP Math test and score at/above the 50th percentile on the MAP Reading test.
    • Score at/above the 75th percentile on the MAP reading test and score at/above the 50th percentile on the MAP math test.
  • Students will have two opportunities to meet the score requirements above:
    • During the Fall MAP assessment window
    • During the Winter MAP assessment window

Screen 2 - Attendance and Behavior Criteria

 

Records of students will be reviewed to determine their attendance and behavior in grade six and the first semester of grade seven. Requiremnets are:

  • Eligible students based on attendance shall be those who have five or fewer unexcused abasences per semester contained in grade six and the first semester of grade seven.
  • Eligible students based on behavior shall be those who have no more than one suspension per semester contained in grades six and the first semester of grade seven. 

Delayed Admission

 

Students may also be admitted to Sumner Academy of Arts and Science in grades 9 and 10, if they meet academic and behavior standards and if space is available. 

 

Seventh grade students meeting the standards outlined above will automatically receive letters inviting them to enroll.

 

Eighth and ninth grade students meeting the standarts who wish to enroll for the 9th or 10th grade must apply by contacting the Office of Student Services for an application. A committee will review all requests. Application accempted November 13 thru February 9, 2018.

Pantalla 1 - criterios académicos

2 - asistencia y criterios de comportamiento de la pantalla

 

Registros de los estudiantes se examinarán para determinar su asistencia y comportamiento en seis y el primer semestre de grado de grado siete. Requiremnets son:

  • Estudiantes elegibles basados en la atención serán los que tienen cinco o menos abasences sin excusa por semestre contienen en el grado seis y el primer semestre del grado siete.
  • Estudiantes elegibles basados en el comportamiento serán los que tienen no más de una suspensión por semestre en semestre seis y el primero de los grados de grado siete.

Admisión tardía

 

Los estudiantes también pueden ser admitidos a Sumner Academia de Artes y Ciencias en los grados 9 y 10, si cumplen con las normas académicas y de comportamiento y si el espacio está disponible.

 

Séptimo grado los alumnos cumplir con los criterios señalados recibirán automáticamente cartas invitándolos a inscribirse.

 

Octavo y noveno grado los estudiantes cumplir los estandares que deseen inscribirse para la 9 º o 10 º grado deben solicitar contactando con la oficina de servicios estudiantiles para una aplicación. Un Comité revisará todas las solicitudes. Aplicación accempted el 13 de noviembre al 09 de febrero de 2018.

Eisenhower will be hosting a back to school dance on Friday, September 15 from 5-7pm. Tickets will be on sale all this week and the cost is $2 in advance or $3 at the door Friday. Snacks will be available for purchase. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ID.

Attention 8th grade Students and Parents!!

EMS was chosen to participate in NAEP testing this year.  A randomly selected group of 8th grade students will be able to participate with NAEP testing at EMS on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.  Letters went home with students regarding NAEP.  Please see the attached letter for more information.
